Introduction
If you have
a problem with your system, you may be able to resolve it quickly
and easily by following the appropriate procedure described herein.
It provides procedures for troubleshooting the most common problems
you may encounter with the system.
You may find
it helpful to have the Hardware User’s Guide, Software User’s Guide,
and Scientific Reference available at hand to perform some of the
procedures. General
Guidelines
- Determine
whether similar problems occurred previously. If you are a site
administrator, determine whether this or a similar problem occurred
previously with the individual site.
- Determine
if anything done by the technician or patient could have caused,
or helped to cause, the incident. Also, note the condition of
the equipment and the test environment, such as whether the testing
room is unusually hot or cold, or whether there appears to be
damage to any component.
- Gather as
many facts as possible that may pertain to the problem. If you
don’t know whether the information is relevant, record it anyway.
Record all information, including procedures followed and conclusions
drawn.
- Don’t panic.
- Be methodical
in your approach.
- If an injury
has occurred, contact the manufacturer and the test administrator.
You may need to file an MDR with the FDA.

WARNING:
If you must check something inside the Main Unit, proceed
with caution. Voltage inside the unit may cause electrocution. |
 |
WARNING:
If you bypass or disable any of the safety interlock features
in the CASE IV during troubleshooting, DO NOT test any patients.
An injury may occur. Never test patients with the interlocks
disabled. |
